Stamped Concrete Custom Design & Build

Our experienced craftsmen have spent decades learning how to create a stamped concrete pour that considers proper depth, texture, slope and color.

What is Stamped Concrete?

Mimicking the appearance of materials like brick, stone, or tile, stamped concrete is a decorative concrete technique where a pattern or texture is impressed onto its surface.

At Allied, we’re committed to the little things from the raw materials to the final sealant. We begin by establishing the proper elevations and then utilize a combination of 3000 PSI concrete and ⅜” thick rebar to create a slab that’s built to last. Once the surface has been poured, we’re careful to make sure the concrete isn’t so wet that the texture is lost or so dry that the pattern can’t take shape. After we’ve created our stamp and texture, the color is broadcast across the surface in a manner that allows the shading to appear natural and our sealant is applied to the surface to ensure that your concrete is protected.

Stamped Concrete Patterns & Materials

Geometric Stamped Concrete Patio

Geometric stamped concrete is commonly utilized on patios and pool decks that contain freeform shapes. This eye-catching shape elevates existing spaces and new areas alike.

Large Stone Stamped Concrete

A large stone stamped concrete walkway can be the perfect accent to almost any home. Though shown here in a walkway, it’s more often utilized in larger areas such as driveways and pool decks.

Small Stone Stamped Concrete

A small stone stamped concrete application is ideally utilized in a smaller setting in order to make the space seem much larger than it is. In this case, it creates a critical storage area beside the main drive.

Herringbone Stamped Concrete

A herringbone stamped concrete slab can create a level of charm rarely seen on a patio. It uniquely combines modern installation techniques with a pattern most often utilized in historical settings.

Subtle Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete doesn’t always have to be the star of the show. In this case, we’ve used a textured skin in order to create a more subtle finish that can coalesce with any existing elements.

Stamped Concrete Border

Regardless of the beautiful patio created, a surface is rarely complete without a border. Think of a picture without a frame…..A stamped concrete border is the finishing touch every space requires.

Stamped Concrete Costs

There are many different styles of concrete to consider as you navigate through the selections process and each of these has a different impact on the price of your project. The smallest investment would be a standard broom finished pour. From there, each potential option requires a larger amount of experience during the installation. It may be a smooth trowel or a stain if you’re looking for something decorative that fits your budget but, if beauty is the desired outcome, a stamped concrete surface provides a long-lasting and cost-effective option for any area of your yard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many patterns can I choose from?

We offer dozens but the majority of our clients select from 8 or 10 of the more common selections.

Can you recolor my existing stamped concrete?

Unfortunately, no. That said, we’re happy to discuss our Carvestone overlay as an alternative.

Will my stamped pour drain properly?

For the most part, yes. It should be noted that - due to the undulated nature of the stamp - some standing water is to be expected.

Is there a permit required?

If we’re replacing the approach of your driveway, it almost always requires a permit. More often than a permit, an HOA is generally concerned with the colors selected for concrete being installed in your front yard.

How experienced are your crews?

Most of our lead foreman have been installing stamped concrete for decades.

How much does stamped concrete cost?

Generally speaking, stamped concrete is the most cost-effective decorative option available. There are so many different site specific factors that influence pricing that each scenario is unique. That said, we’ll attempt to provide a comprehensive estimate at our initial consultation.

Is stamped concrete slippery?

Depending on the stamp selected it can be. Generally, we have some stamps we’d recommend only for a driveway and others that are more receptive to wet, pedestrian traffic. We’ll also add a non-skid agent into the sealant to act as an additional layer of defense.

How to restore faded stamped concrete?

Unfortunately, we do not recommend adding topical color as it will not stand the test of time. Often a simple reseal can refresh the surface and bring back its original beauty.

How to clean stamped concrete?

We recommend a garden hose and some soap. Once you introduce a pressure washer you run the risk of inadvertently removing the protective sealant.

How long does sealer last on stamped concrete?

We recommend the surface be resealed every 18-24 months.
